A collection of European concert halls that are members of ECHO, an association comprising the most prestigious music venues on the continent, have launched the project Music of the Day from Europe’s Concert Halls, which will, for the first time and in a simultaneous and synchronised manner, offer a daily concert on Facebook.
L’Auditori, as an active member of this organisation, will be the only Spanish concert hall to participate in this venture, which will start on Monday at 8 pm from Amsterdam with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mariss Jansons.
L’Auditori’s contribution will be the concert that the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra performed at the Sagrada Família on 20 September 2015 and which marked Kazushi Ono’s début as the orchestra’s principal conductor. This concert will be broadcast on Wednesday 25 March at 8 pm and can be watched simultaneously in different countries across Europe on the participating institutions’ channels.
The objective of Music of the Day from Europe’s Concert Halls is to ensure that people can enjoy high quality music from their homes for as long as the confinement measures last. As well as L’Auditori, the other ECHO concert hall members participating in the simultaneous broadcasts will be Palau de la Música Catalana, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Konserthuset in Stockholm, the BOZAR in Brussels, the Town Hall and Symphony Hall in Birmingham, the Müpa in Budapest and the Konzerthaus in Dortmund.
With the ECHO Facebook concerts, L’Auditori reaffirms its local and international endeavours to bring music and culture to everyone, and takes its commitment to develop digital formats one step further with undertakings such as this and the platform ‘L’Auditori at home with you’.
Every evening, L’Auditori will broadcast a concert on Facebook from Europe’s leading concert halls
