Marina Herlop
Programme
The Sit Back series opens with a feat L’Auditori is delighted to host and celebrate, as Barcelona welcomes Marina Herlop’s Dja Dja, a monumental, kaleidoscopic project she has spent two years working on full-time, pouring every fibre of her being into giving it form and meaning.
Conceived as a single body of work, Dja Dja has become the boldest and most complex technical and emotional challenge yet undertaken by this internationally acclaimed composer, pianist and producer. Touched by genius, she crosses every sonic and experimental frontier to reach uncharted moons.
Inspired by the hero’s journey, Marina Herlop has created a musical journey that leads its heroine out of the caverns of the self, through obstacles to be faced and overcome, and towards a liberating artistic culmination. Both metaphorical and real, this epic is at once a furious roar and an exercise in meticulous delicacy, becoming a manifesto of self-affirmation and a source of revelatory, reassuring certainty.
With staging designed especially for the occasion, Herlop will unleash her latest creative feat at L’Auditori.
