Programme
Laurie Anderson announces her concert at the Barcelona Jazz Festival at L’Auditori accompanied by Sexmob, a jazz band without borders founded around the legendary Knitting Factory in New York with first-class musicians such as Steven Bernstein, Briggan Krauss, Tony Scherr and Kenny Wollesen, who are still adventure partners today along with a fifth member, Doug Wieselman. A character with multiple creative interests – composer, writer, photographer, visual artist and many other things –, Anderson proposes a special show, titled after one of the pieces from her major album Big Science: Let X=X. Big Science has been said to be a happy minimalist synthesis between Steve Reich and Robert Ashley, but in the live shows there have also been references to her life partner, Lou Reed, and to the groove of James Brown. Laurie Anderson + Sexmoob = a unique, different night.
