Programa
For one evening, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC) invites audiences on an exhilarating journey into the heart of Romanticism. The programme unfolds through five movements from five symphonies, which together form a single, sweeping musical arc.
The vibrant energy of the opening movement of Borodin’s Second Symphony ignites the spark, which Rachmaninoff then fans into a blaze of unbridled passion. At the heart of the programme lies the famous Poco allegretto from Brahms’ Third Symphony – so familiar from film and television – which seems to suspend time in a moment of wistful intimacy. Dvořák brings a luminous, dance-like vitality before Tchaikovsky, relentless and compelling, drives the evening towards a finale of irresistible energy. An experience designed to sweep listeners away and immerse them in a true wave of emotions.
