Martirio’s legendary voice comes to Barnasants and L’Auditori to present Al Sur del Tango, a show that fully explores tango and the roots shared between Argentina and Spain, so closely linked to the copla, through Martirio’s unmistakeable voice. These are types of music that have forged common connotations, from port to port and from one side of the Atlantic to the other. At the helm, the voice of the Andalusian singer Martirio, in love with flamenco, jazz, the copla and especially her “husband”, the tango. She is accompanied by three exceptional teachers: the Argentinian Marcelo Mercadante (bandoneon), the Catalan Olvido Lanza (violin) and Jesús Lavilla (piano) from Cádiz. On this occasion, they perform tangos ranging from Gardel to Piazzolla, showcasing pieces by the most celebrated composers: the Expósito brothers, Discépolo, Eladia Blázquez, Canaro, Contursi, Mores and many more.
