Requiem of light and darkness for the present moment
There are musics that are born from silence and return to it, like a shared breath. El cant dels ocells, rooted in Catalan tradition, is one of these melodies that traverse time with disarming simplicity. In its voice, made of earth and light, the oldest desire resonates: peace. Converted into a universal symbol precisely by Pau Casals, this song opens the concert like a wordless prayer.
With Exsultate, jubilate, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart invites us to a radiant joy. The voice soars with lightness, as if celebrating the possibility of a world reconciled with itself. In this young and luminous music, peace is not the absence of conflict, but plenitude, a suspended moment where everything seems to find its place, just as Victoria de los Ángeles did in her masterful interpretation of this piece by Mozart, the most universal of composers.
His Requiem takes us to another dimension: that of memory, mourning and transcendence, so important at this time in which we live. Unfinished, like so many lives and so many dreams, it contains a force that moves us deeply. Between darkness and light, the music traces a path that is not only of farewell, but also of consolation. In each chord, in each silence, we sense a deeper, more intimate and universal search for peace. This concert is a song to peace but also to the contemplation and remembrance of so many lives lost in the conflict. From the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation, a voice that moved the world with its humanity and its truth, we are promoting this Concert for Peace for the third year, which unfortunately seems to be more and more necessary.
