Programme
Icelandic soprano Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir and Indian-American pianist Kunal Lahiry are one of the most exciting musical pairings of the moment. Guðmundsdóttir combines her vocal versatility with an interest in audiovisual language, which she uses to capture the essence of her musical journey and her inner world. Lahiry, for his part, channels his musical concerns into the resignification of classical music from alternative standpoints, such as the queer perspective. Together they present a repertoire in which we can enjoy their ability to help us rediscover classical composers, as well as explore contemporary works such as the national premiere of L’Auditori’s co-commission to Maria Huld Markan.
