Programme
Luca Guglielmi and Manfredo Kraemer have frequently collaborated with Jordi Savall on various projects to recover, revise, and reinterpret musical scores from a philological perspective. In this performance, they will explore four pieces from Johann Sebastian Bach’s catalogue that capture the essence of chamber music. The sonatas BWV 1015, 1016, 1018 and 1019 for violin and harpsichord date from the period when the musician served Prince Leopold von Anhalt-Köthen at the court of Köthen and, composed in four movements, adhere to the structure of the Italian-style sonata. This concert provides a perfect opportunity to explore and appreciate the chamber music written by the composer of St Matthew Passion.
