Bachcelona has always been one of the stars of L’Auditori’s early music series. And, of course, Johann Sebastian Bach always draws a crowd. Throughout his life, Bach considered the cantata one of his favourite expressive forms, in so far as they are rooted in Lutheran theology that strove to share the message of the Gospel, though secular cantatas, which are also a key part of his oeuvre. With the Bachcelona Consort and the Bachcelona Akademie at the helm, this evening – the culmination of this Early Music Season – is sure to be a huge success.
