pROGRAMME
This special session pays tribute to Horace Silver, an influential and eclectic jazzman who collaborated with the likes of Thelonious Monk, Stan Getz, and Miles Davis during the transformative 1950s, a period marked by the rapid evolution of bop and new interpretive lines. Silver’s funk-infused style particularly flourished in the ’70s, leaving an indelible mark on his productions, which sometimes included vocals.
In this well-merited homage, a brass quartet will perform his most memorable themes alongside the Joan Monné Trio, comprised of ESMUC faculty, at the Sala Alicia de Larrocha.
