Senior Citizens’ Choirs of Catalonia
IN THE CITY is an ode to urban humanity. Divided into eleven songs, it tells us how a small farmhouse made with river stones becomes, over time, a metropolis inhabited by the most diverse people. Like all cities, this one —which has no name— has also experienced harmony and war, illusions and disappointments. Its history and evolution are narrated by the stones themselves, which are interpreted by the choir, while the experiences of its citizens are interpreted by two soloists. The musical composition links, with strength, joy and sensitivity, the transcendent life of humans with the material existence of the stones.
