Programme
THE SESSIONS FOR THIS CONCERT WILL BE MORE RELAXED. RULES REGARDING NOISE AND MOVEMENT IN THE CONCERT HALL WILL BE MORE RELAXED THAN USUAL, AND SOME MINOR ADJUSTMENTS MAY ALSO BE MADE TO THE LIGHTING, SOUND, ETC. FOR THE WELLBEING OF ALL KINDS OF PUBLIC. THESE TYPES OF SESSIONS ARE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO PREFER A MORE CASUAL ATMOSPHERE, THEREBY REDUCING ANXIETY LEVELS AND MAKING THE EXPERIENCE BETTER FOR EVERYONE (E.G. FAMILIES WITH SMALL CHILDREN, PEOPLE WITH ALZHEIMER’S, PEOPLE WITH AUTISM, ETC.).
In collaboration with the company Els Pirates, the worlds of theatre and classical music are brought together. The works performed in this concert demonstrate that the bond between these two worlds remains strong, beginning with Theatre Music by Philip Sparke, composed in 1990, and then delving into the zarzuela tradition with a selection from La leyenda del beso (The Legend of the Kiss). In this version for band of the work by Reveriano Soutullo and Joan Vert, the instruments help to articulate – whether flamboyantly or subtly, but in any case without words – both the plot and the characters’ states of mind. The concert will be rounded off with the suite that Aram Khachaturian created for Lope de Vega’s comedy La viuda valenciana (The Widow from Valencia). A veritable feast of dazzling and indisputably elegant music!
