Program
Two works inspired by two of the most important Hispanic composers from the turn of the 19th century are the main feature of this programme: Catalan composer Enric Granados and Andalusian composer Manuel de Falla. The Spanish Dances, version for piano, were very well received at their debut in Barcelona. The OBC performs a symphonic version selection, including the famous “El Amor Brujo” ballet, a story set in a gypsy camp with passionate, high tempo yet tender music. Drawing on the same inspiration, the OBC debuts the Réquiem por el cantaor de los poetas work expressly written by Enric Palomar for this occasion. The programme is led by the baton of one of our most international conductors, Josep Caballé.
