Programme

GABRIEL FAURE: Pavana in fa # m, op. 50 (1887)
MAURICE RAVEL: Pavana of the sleeping beauty of the forest, for piano four hands
MAURICE RAVEL: Ma mère l’oye (1911)

The OBC presents a journey through the dances of Maurice Ravel. Sleeping Beauty, Puppet, Beauty and the Beast and other characters from the fairy tales of Charles Perrault are the protagonists of the ballet My mother hears it, an open door to an enchanted and magical world that serves as a starting point for a choreographic work on stage. Ravel's sensibility masterfully captures the universe of fantasy: free, lively and colorful dances that show the tenderest side of a composer fascinated by childhood.
