Program

In the hands of the Modigliani Quartet, Franz Schubert’s Romantic intensity takes on an almost tragic form in the string quartet entitled “Death and the Maiden”, in which the Viennese composer makes use of melodies from the lied of the same name.

DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAMME HEREThe Dalia Quartet, which in just over six years has established itself as one of Catalonia’s leading quartets, is no stranger to performing contemporary works. The Quartet will perform the absolute premiere of String Quartet No. 8 by Josep Soler i Sardà, taking us back to the 16th century with a work based on a theme by the great polyphonist Cristóbal de Morales. It will also revisit Jordi Cervelló’s “Remembrances”, for String Quartet, the result of twenty years of creative process and revision with a remarkable introspective intention that, nevertheless, the composer catalogues as being within the field of pure music, despite the evocative and even melancholic title of the work.
