Vesselin Stanev, born in Varna (Bulgaria), trained at the National Academy of Music in Sofia and at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Dmitri Bashkirov, and with Alexis Weissenberg at the Paris Conservatory. Mentored by Peter Feuchtwanger, London. Prize winner at the International Tchaikovsky Competition and at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition. Performances in the great European concert halls: Wigmore Hall in London, Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Philharmonie in Berlin, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, and Salle Gaveau in Paris. Tours in Scandinavia, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Russia and Japan. Collaborations with such conductors as Paul Daniel, Alexander Lazarev, Hubert Soudant, and David Zinman. Regular chamber music concerts with violinist Ekaterina Frolova. CDs released by RCA, Sony Classical and the Bulgarian record label Gega New.
The Swiss flutist Eva Oertle is active throughout Europe as a soloist and chamber musician. She plays with such internationally acclaimed orchestras as Il Giardino Armonico and Al Ayre Español. Her recitals have taken her to such major concert halls such as the Salle Gaveau in Paris, the Leipzig Gewandhaus and the Musikverein in Vienna. As a soloist her credits include performances with the Brandenburg String Orchestra, the Davos Festival Orchestra, and the festival Strings Lucerne among other ensembles, and she has undertaken concert tours to Germany, Italy, Spain and South America. Her Cd's Undine and Lake REflections (on Sony Classical) have both garnered much praise in the music press. Eva Oertle studied modern flute at the Music Academies of Freiburg and Basel with such mentors as Janek Rosset, Felix Renggli and Peter-Lukas Graf. Her interest in historically informed performance practice subsequently led her to the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and to London, where she studied with Rachel Brown. Eva Oertle also serves as a host and music editor for Radio SRF2 Kultur.
