Program
Four essential authors of the universe of minimalist music feature in the programme. G-song by Terry Riley was his first work for a quartet, which comes from a previous work for saxophone and keyboard. The String Quartet No. 3 by Philip Glass is an excerpt from the music score he wrote for the film Mishima by Paul Schrader. Based on an original for a cappella vocals, Arvo Pärt adapted Summa for string quartet in 1991 as an instrumental piece. The Quartet No. 2 by Michael Nyman is based on the carnatic music of southern India that accompanies the development of dance. The concert will feature the participation of visual artist Pablo Bruera who will employ light-based video creativity during the actual performance.
