Program
Valencian director Pablo Rus Broseta will be opening the door to the young talents who will be the stars of this year’s “Emergents” concert. The main work is Brahms’s Double Concerto for violin and cello, a unique piece in its genre that demands maximum rapport between the two musicians and which, despite being premiered by the highly renowned Joseph Joachim, did not immediately win over audiences. With time, however, it has won the acclaim it deserves and is now considered one of the essential works of the symphonic concerto repertoire.
