Giustina was born in Argentina in 1961, where she began her training as a classical and contemporary dancer. After her family went into political exile, she moved to Barcelona in 1978, where she continued her studies. She began her professional career in 1983 with the Ballet Teatre de Barcelona. In 1984, she premièred Se busca a l’asesino,with the Barcelona Término Group, at the Teatre Condal. In 1985, she danced with the Mercyhurst College Dance ensemble under the direction of Jean Marc Baier, and in 1986 she premièred Alicia Ferrer’s Tots els secrets són al jardí,  at La Fàbrica. In 1988 she premièred Fugiens, her own show, also at La Fàbrica, followed in 1992-1993 by work with the Kenmerk Dance Project (Barcelona).

Through her work with choreographer and educator Dafna Rathouse, she became involved with the Dafmark Dance Theater in Pennsylvania. In 1994, she premièred Reflexions i records at the Government of Catalonia’s Espai de Dansa, as the artistic director and founder of the Atalanta Fugiens company. Throughout her artistic career, she has also acted in short films by director Mónica Rumeu (Best Actress Award at the Girona Festival in 1993) and has developed her side as an opera soloist in various Sant Jordi Choir productions.

In 2005, she retired from the stage to devote herself fully to teaching. She has been a panel member for the City of Barcelona Awards and is a regular panel guest in various European competitions. She has been invited to join a number of cultural projects by the Liceu Francès de Barcelona, such as the Dance Physique conference in 2013, and she gave a talk about Bronislava Nijinska at the University of Barcelona on 20 April 2022, invited by full professor Dr Magda Polo.

She is currently a dance teacher and artistic director at the Institut del Teatre’s Professional Dance Conservatory, in Barcelona.
