KamBrass Quintet was formed in 2017 in Barcelona and has established itself as one of the most promising ensembles in the current music scene. Made up of five friends with a shared passion for chamber music, the quintet stands out for its versatility, combining premieres of unpublished works, original repertoire, and idiomatic arrangements, always with musicality as the central focus.
Throughout its journey, KamBrass has been recognized with major international awards, including the Philip Jones Prize at the Royal Overseas League (ROSL) in London (2024) and 2nd Prize at the Philip Jones International Brass Ensemble Competition in Birmingham (2023). They have also received the 1st Prize at the Philip Jones Brass Preis (Lucerne, 2022), 2nd Prize at the Antón García Abril Competition (Granada, 2022), 2nd Prize at the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition, and the American Brass Quintet Prize at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition (USA, 2021), among many other recognitions.
KamBrass has performed at prominent festivals such as the Lucerne Festival, Schleswig-Holstein, Viva Musica Festival in Bratislava, Santander International Festival, MonteLeón Festival, Kings Place in London, Swiss Chamber Music Festival, and the Emergents Festival at the Auditori de Barcelona. With the aim of continuing to grow, they will release their debut album, Developments, in November 2024.
In parallel, they have combined this artistic activity with academic training at institutions such as the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, the Hochschule für Musik in Lucerne, and the Musik Akademie Basel, receiving guidance from figures like Anton Kernjak, Claudio Martínez, the Casals Quartet, Kuss Quartet, Dirk Mommertz, Gregor Sigl (Artemis Quartet), Patrick Jüdt, Isabel Charisius (Alban Berg Quartet), Immanuel Richter, Pablo M. Fernández, Spanish Brass, and Matthias Hoffs (German Brass), among others.
