He began training with his father and continued his musical studies at the San Sebastián Superior Conservatory, with top marks. He perfected his knowledge with prestigious professors such as V. Zarzo, I. James, J. Molnar, E. Terwilliger and M. Hötzel.

He is the founder of groups such as Edeta Sextet, Danzi Wind Quintet, Iberian Brass or Bilbao Brass Quintet. He has been principal horn of groups such as Conjunto Barroco, Bilbao Municipal Band, Pablo Sarasate Symphony Orchestra of Navarra, Euskadi Orchestra, Castilla-León Orchestra, Mediterráneo Orchestra, Spanish National Orchestra, Comunidad de Madrid Orchestra, Oviedo Symphony Orchestra, Łodz Philharmonic Orchestra (Poland), Cluj Orchestra (Romania), Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Bandart Orchestra and, recently, he has been invited to perform with the Arturo Toscanini Orchestra conducted by Lorin Maazel and the Mozart Orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado.

As a soloist, he has performed concertos by Reinhold Glière, Richard Strauss, Benjamin Britten and Carl Maria von Weber with the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, with whom he also collaborated in its 75th anniversary concert, performing Mozart's Symphony Concertante. He has taught at the Jesús Guridi, Leioa and Andrés Isasi Conservatories.

Interested in ancient instruments, he studies natural horn, and in this field, he performs with the Sa Nostra Orchestra in the Balearic Islands, Poznań and Wroclaw Orchestras in Poland and the Ensemble I Barroquisti in Lugano.

He has recorded the Concerto for horn and band by Luis Aramburu. He has recently premiered the Concertos for horn and band "Edetano" by José M. García Montalt and "Lauro" by Muñoz. He has played the Concert "Poseidon" for horn and band by Hardy Mertens with the Bands of Bilbao, Vitoria, Badalona, Municipal de Barcelona, Municipal de Madrid and La Artística in Buñol.

In 2006, he premiered in Europe the John Williams Concert with the Bilbao Symphony under the conduction of maestro Juanjo Mena, and performed it again in 2012 at the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Auditori de Lleida.

He has been a musician with the Banda Primitiva de Llíria since 1981; he has belonged to the Bilbao Symphonic Band since 1984 and has been a soloist of the same since 1989. Since the 2010/11 season he has been soloist horn of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) and professor at the Superior School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC).
