Winner of the First Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2010, Denis Kozhukhin has established himself as one of the finest pianists of his generation.

Kozhukhin frequently collaborates with leading international orchestras, such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Philharmonia Orchestra, among others. He is also a regular guest at festivals like Verbier, Gstaad, Grafenegg, Dresden, the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, and the BBC Proms.

The 22/23 season included collaborations with the National Orchestra of Denmark, the NDR Radiophilharmonie, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony, the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and the Istanbul Philharmonic, among others. In Spain, his appearance with the Barenboim-Said Foundation Academy Orchestra, his debut with the Navarre Symphony, and a tour with the HR-Sinfonieorchester performing Ravel’s Concerto in G major under the baton of A. Altintoglu stood out. He also performed at the Tsinandali and Schloss-Elmau festivals and gave recitals at Carnegie Hall, Cadogan Hall, De Singel, Megaron, the Philharmonic Society of Alicante, and the Lille Piano Festival.

His most recent recording, featuring César Franck’s Symphonic Variations with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Gustavo Gimeno, was released in 2020, joining his previous albums of Mendelssohn’s Lieder ohne Worte and Grieg’s Lyric Pieces (nominated for an Opus Klassik award), as well as recordings of Haydn, Brahms, and Prokofiev, and concertos by Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Ravel, and Gershwin.

Kozhukhin collaborates in chamber music with artists such as Janine Jansen, Jörg Widmann, Julian Rachlin, Vadim Repin, Leonidas Kavakos, Michael Barenboim, Vilde Frang, Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, Elena Bashkirova, Radovan Vlatkovic, Emmanuel Pahud, Alisa Weilerstein, Nicolas Alstaedt, Julian Steckel, Pablo Ferrández, and Alexandra Conunova, among others.

Kozhukhin studied at the Queen Sofia High School of Music in Madrid with Dmitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martínez-Mehner, and later completed his training at the Lake Como Piano Academy with Fou Ts’ong, Stanislav Yudenitch, Peter Frankl, Boris Berman, Charles Rosen, and Andreas Staier, as well as with Kirill Gerstein in Stuttgart.

In recent years, his mentor has been Maestro Daniel Barenboim.
