After the success achieved with the publication of her debut album under Warner Classics with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra & Daniel Barenboim, the oboist Cristina Gómez Godoy continues to perform the Strauss oboe concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona under the direction of Matthias Pintscher and Rebecca Tong. Moreover, she will be part of “Rising Stars” programme across Europe, continues to perform as a "Junge Wilde" artist at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, and will make her debut as a soloist alongside the Festival Strings Lucerne in many festivals such as the Rheingau Musik Festival.

In 2013, Ms. Gómez was appointed principal solo oboist of the Staatskapelle Berlin. Furthermore, she is since 2015 and adjunct professor at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Gómez made in 2019 her recital debuts at Carnegie Hall and Pierre Boulez Saal with the pianist Michail Lifits. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica do Estado de São Paulo, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra or West-Eastern Divan, and is invited as principal in orchestras like Berlin Philharmonic, Filarmonica della Scala de Milan, Chamber Orchestra of Europe or Bayreuth Festival.

As a chamber musician, she frequently collaborates with such artists as Daniel Barenboim, Guy Braunstein, Pablo Ferrández, Mario Häring, Marc Boushko, Sophie Dervaux, Sara Ferrández and Calidore, Castalian and Staatskapelle Berlin String Quartets such as Lucerne Festival, Ravinia Festival (USA), Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Liceo de Cámara XXI, Mozarteum, Musikverein, Konserthuset in Stockholm, and venues such as Konzerthaus and Philharmonie in Berlin, Philharmonie in Paris, Philharmonie of Luxembourg, L’Auditori and Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid and Sociedad Filarmónica in Bilbao.

Born in Linares (Spain) in 1990, she studied at the music conservatory of Linares, Jaén and Sevilla, at the Academia de Estudios Orquestales of the Barenboim-Said Foundation in Sevilla. She finished her master’s degree at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Rostock, with Gregor Witt.
