Founded in 2000 by Lluís Vilamajó, comprising up to forty-two young girls aged sixteen to twenty-five, most of whom started in the children's choirs of the Orfeó Català. Buia Reixach i Feixes is the director and Josep Surinyac is the pianist.

The choir worked with directors such as J. Busto, P. Ll. Biosca, X. Puig, M. Minkowski, E. van Tiel, M. Valdivieso, N. Huynh, J. Nott, A. Salado, G. Dudamel and Z. Mehta, and collaborated with the Camera Symphony Orchestra Musicae, Vespres d'Arnadí, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Vallès Symphony Orchestra, Jove Orquestra Nacional de catalunya, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. It has also collaborated with the singer Noa and the company KuKai Dantza.

It has performed in Spain, Germany, France and Slovenia. In 2005, it was awarded at the Cantonigròs Festival. The choir has recorded two CDs, Viatjant... and Germinans. In the 2016-17 season, it participated in the Heimat Project, with the Mädchenchor Hannover, under the direction of Simon Halsey. In July 2018, it performed at the Festival Grec performing the opera El monstre al laberint by J. Dove with the choirs of Orfeó Català and JONC. In 2019, the choir made its debut at the Berlin Philharmonic, in the Berlin Philharmonic's Vocal Heroes choral project, under the conduction of Simon Halsey; performed at the Peralada Festival, at L’Auditori de Barcelona, and was a finalist in the Let the Peoples Sing amateur choir competition. It, recently premiered Les trompetes de la mort by M. Timón with the OSV, the show La vie en rose, with stage direction by Dani Coma, and La victoria de la dona lluna by Ferran Cruixent. In July 2022, it presented Pergolesi's Stabat Mater show at the Palau, with Vespres d'Arnadí and stage direction by Marc Rosich, included in the Festival Grec.

Highlights of this 2022-23 season include Caroline Shaw's performance of It’s motion keeps at the Palau de la Música Catalana and Jordi Domènech's Pianto della Madonna, alongside guest choirs Exaudio, Aglepta and Naiades.

The Cor de Noies (female choir) is part of the Orfeó Català Choral School and receives the support of Fundación Banco Santander.
