Following the enthusiastic reception of the first volume of Catalan Wind Music, the ‎‎Barcelona Symphony Band and the conductor Salvador ‎Brotons are back to present a second album bearing the Naxos ‎seal, which records works of prominent Catalan composers for the first time. ‎

The album opens with the festive Música per a un diumenge, ‎‎(Music for a Sunday) by Xavier Montsalvatge, followed by the piece ‎‎Jocs temàtics (Thematic games) by Joan Albert ‎Amargós, where the instruments toy with dramatic force and timbre.‎

The album continues with the dramatic and moving Symphony No. ‎‎1 by the composer Elisenda Fábregas and ends with the ‎impeccable and punchy A Double Bass Fantasy by ‎‎Moisès Bertran, a piece featuring the double bassist Jonathan ‎Camps as soloist.‎
