Martin Luther (1483-1546) and Louis XIV of France (1638-1715) are undoubtedly two of the most important public figures in the history of Europe. Beyond any feelings of admiration or aversion that they may arouse in us, the fact remains that both promoted the creation of some important musical works. The first edition of the Lights of Early Music Festival revolves precisely around these two figures. This is why we propose to learn a bit more about each of them and their intrinsic relationship with the composers and works to be performed during the festival, and their authors, in the form of a dialogue between writer Miquel de Palol, lawyer and art collector Antoni Gelonch (who has recently published a biography about the German theologian) and musicologist Oriol Pérez i Treviño.
