Program

The Banda-Cobla del Col·legi Santa Maria gave its first performance 57 years ago, on 21 August 1965, conducted by Father Joaquim Alqueza S.F.
Over the years the band has been recognised as a source of inspiration for great musicians.

On 2 October 1997, aged only 24, Jordi Sacristán Blàzquez, who had formerly played with the band, took over as conductor, a position he still holds, 25 years later. For this reason, present and former players have decided to come together in an ensemble of 120 musicians, presenting this concert as a tribute to the conductor’s career.

A highly entertaining and varied programme
The music played will range from classical pieces to pasodobles, jazz and contemporary music, while retaining the band’s familiar, heartfelt style.
