Program
Founded by violinist Gidon Kremer, the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival was hailed by the New York Times as “one of the most refined music festivals of all”. This concert is brought to us by the current artistic director, Nicolas Altstaedt, contrasting the youthfulness of a 21-year old Richard Strauss against the innate maturity of Johannes Brahms, who created a true masterpiece at the age of 28.
