Lighthouse Music

L'Auditori Lighthouse Music is a new stake on the map of musical culture in Barcelona. This series is intended to set new coordinates in sound cartography, starting with improvisation and including from jazz to R&B, passing through blues and pop, and also including the electronic references. With absolute rigour of quality and prestige in the programming, the new cycle includes works for all audiences and shows the wide spectrum that improvisation can offer music today.

In this first edition, L'Auditori Lighthouse Music starts with a perfect balance between legends of contemporary music and new international figures coming in strong. In July 2010 Lighthouse Music will show us the development of contemporary music from the sixties and seventies with historically important figures of the like of Bobby Hutcherson and Dr. John, to the more innovative present with artists such as The Bad Plus and Bela Fleck.

Eclectic and heterogeneous, the L'Auditori Lighthouse Music series seeks to democratise music, attract different audiences and create a meeting point between the different musical references that feed the pleasure of listening to live music. Lighthouse will become a benchmark that houses the musical tradition of the 20th century and the newer proposals of improvisation.

L'Auditori Lighthouse Music is an original idea of the CP Jazz promoter and music agency, with the particular co-operation of L'Auditori, Contrabaix and the Festival Grec.
