L'Auditori fora de L'Auditori

The Auditori fora de L’Auditori project began in January 2005, promoted and funded by the Department of Culture of the Catalan Regional Government, with the aim of bringing the concerts and activities staged at the Auditori closer to the Catalan public, to as many towns as possible.

Over the six years that this project has been up and running, a great number of Catalan cities with venues suited to the technical requirements have staged some of our family concerts. We have visited such cities as Mataró, Vilassar, Premià, Olot, Vandellòs, Sant Pere Sallavinera, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Viladecans, Calafell, Blanes, Montgat, Terrassa, Girona, Palafrugell and Lleida.

Thanks to the “la Caixa” Foundation, school children from Granada, Jaén, Almeria, Caceres, Alcorcón, Acalà de Henares, Córdoba and Fuenteventura have been able to enjoy our concerts, with a total of 50 concerts held each year and audiences of around 18,000 children.

Europe has also shown an interest in our educational project and has requested our concerts in cities such as Hamburg, Cologne, Gateshead, Oporto and also Mexico.

Cantània, one of our star activities, has also encouraged some 250,000 children throughout the country to sing the same cantata at over 50 concerts in Barcelona, Olot, Figueres, Manresa, Mataró, Granollers, Vilafranca, Terrassa and El Vendrell. It has also been sung translated into Spanish in Salamanca, Valladolid, Parla and Caracas.

Spreading the word and promoting Auditori productions has resulted in a total of 180 concerts performed each year outside Barcelona. More than 300,000 people have enjoyed concerts and participative activities, filling us with a great sense of fulfilment and enthusiasm to continue our challenge and reach towns that so far have not been part of this initiative.
