A selection of illustrations and music taken from the CD-book entitled “The Village of Wood and Wind, Girasons, Ma, me, mi...Mozart” from the “Listen to the Auditori” collection. This is the second DVD from the “Look and Listen” collection, which contains a number of moving images and music for children to enjoy on their own or with adults. The illustrations come to life with the compositions that inspired them.

Taking one of the most popular and widely-known works, A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra by Benjamin Britten, and five works written by contemporary Catalan composers as our starting point, we would like to present an entertaining and educational approach to discovering how a symphony orchestra is organised and how it works.

2 trumpets, 1 horn, 1 trombone and 1 tuba perform a repertoire that ranges from Bach to Lutoslawski, passing through Morera, Mancini, Nino Rotta and Waller, amongst others. This DVD is the recording of the El més petit de tots concert produced by the Auditori for babies aged 3 months and over. It is an ideal tool for enjoying and discovering a new way of connecting with your children, through play, while at the same time listening to music. As the three musicians play, the dancer sketches feelings and situations using a rag doll: she hugs it, she strokes it, she rocks it, she plays with it to the sound of traditional Catalan songs and contemporary music.
