Recommended for children from 6 to 12. The cantatas commissioned and first performed in the Cantània activity. This is a cd collection with the works that different compsers and writers have created to be sung by primary school groups.

  The alchemist and his four helper elves are searching for the cake of happiness. In a big book at the antique book fair on Barcelona’s Passeig de Gràcia, they discover a chapter devoted to the Philosopher’s Stone They decide to look for it, and while they are solving the riddles posed by the text, they gradually discover the elements that shape music: melody, rhythm, harmony and polyphony.

  The Mutiny

  Season 2007/2008

  There is a mutiny aboard a pirate ship. The captain is injured and the bells aren’t ringing out the quarters or the hours. Meanwhile the pirates are carousing. At one point, the captain realised the mutiny was taking place, but because of a mistake by the parrot, his reaction caused the pirates to ransack the ship. Finally, the capitain's "feet are on the ground" again and he takes command, even though the ship isn't exactly a ship any more, just the bare bones.

  Arion and the dolfin. Congratulations,Cantània!

  2008/2009 Season

  The work of this CD has been written to celebrate the X anniversary of Cantània in the Auditori. Before the cantata "Arion and the dolphin" there is a small text interpreted by three actors who draw a family situation of celebration of 10 years of the daughter, who is called Cantània. It is interpreted for: piano, violi, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, horn, percussion, and the three narrators who also sing. All the work ends with a song of very special birthday.

  Alfred and Elisabet are two young primitive creatures who live in the forest. Everyone in their tribe carries huge sacks full of objects that they use to make themselves understood. When they meet, they take things out of the sack until the other one understands them. They sometimes use gestures or a twig to draw in the earth to help. But it is proving very difficult to communicate today...
